Prior to joining the Brown & Brown team after the acquisition in late 2008, Katie Brockway was an Association and Benefits Manager of Agency Associates Inc. She joined Agency Associates in January 2003. Founded in 1974, Agency Associates grew to be one of the largest multiple line independent insurance agencies in Indiana. With over $103 million in annual premium and over 6500 clients, Agency Associates provided comprehensive insurance solutions to individuals and businesses. One of her initiatives is the ongoing education of consumers in the Health and Life insurance arena, where she helps employers, individuals and families make wise healthcare decisions. Katie holds her Life & Health as well as her Property & Casualty license.
One of the aspects that Katie really likes about her job occurs when she can become an advocate for a client during our quest for the plan that's best for them. Katie works with a lot of professionals who depend on her to provide them with the most current options available, so she spends a lot of time just educating her clients on what to consider. "I probably spend about 1 to 2 hours per week in seminars with our carriers just learning about new products, or hearing about how new government regulations may affect our current policy holders. I can save my clients a lot of time with the knowledge that I retain throughout the year. I love this industry because it is always changing, which means that I'm always learning something new. I'm constantly talking to my clients about the three factors that can really impact their premium: industry trends, age, and utilization, so that they can learn how to better control their own costs."
Born in East Lansing, Michigan, her family moved to Indianapolis in 1989, where Katie attended Lawrence Central High School and Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis. Currently residing in Fishers, Indiana, she enjoys spending time with family & friends. Additional areas of interests are cooking, art, and James Patterson novels.
