That led me to the prosecutor’s office, where I stayed for another six years. My entire career has been leading up to my current role as judge of the Hendricks Superior Court #1. Currently, I am serving my first 6-year term and it is my intent that the road will continue on to a second 6-year term.
Throughout my career
I have been very involved with the Indiana State Bar Association. Prior to being elected judge, I was a member of the House of Delegates and even taught a few continuing legal education classes for the Association. My membership goes all the way back to when I was first sworn in. Membership has served me well in many aspects of my personal and professional life.
Not only has the State Bar Association been a great outlet for me to become involved but it has also given me the opportunity to network with other attorneys throughout the state. Many of these people, I would not see for a whole year or so, but if I needed to contact one of them regarding a case, I knew I could. I feel this sense of community is very important.
In addition to the networking,
I have realized I have paid for my ISBA membership many times over just by the savings I've gained by having my professional and personal insurance with them.
Over the years, I have had a couple of claims, and they were handled very quickly. They make it very easy whenever I have to change coverage for my kids, by adding another driver, which saves me time. I think it’s a great value for the members. Just like never looking back after taking my first job, the same goes for switching my insurance coverage.
